A programable keypad increases your productivity and reduce Repetitive Strain Injury. Instead of using a chord key such as Ctrl+c to copy, you can just press one single key.
In complex app, such as 3D gaming, image editing, video editing, 3D modeling, or even web dev, you have about 50 commands that you use daily, and easily 100 commands you use every week. Single key saves you hand effort greatly.
Here is a sample setup for general office work and web browsing.
- 2 buttons for previous/next tab.
- 2 buttons for backward/forward page. (these usually are already on 5-buttons mouse.)
- 2 button for close tab , open last closed tab.
- 2 buttons to switch previous/next window.
- 1 button to close window.
- 4 buttons to switch to 4 your most frequently used apps. For example, for programer: {browser, desktop, terminal, emacs}, for artist: {browser, desktop, image editor, video editor}.
- 1 button to cycle current app's windows.
- 4 buttons for {select all, cut, copy, paste}.
- 2 buttons for {undo, redo}.
